What is the range of the car?
It's important to find a car that offers a range which will fit into your lifestyle. EV ranges are constantly improving meaning there's more choice than ever.
If your car is used mainly for short journeys, you won't need a long range. However, if you regularly go on longer trips, be sure to find a range that accommodates this without the need to stop and charge constantly.
What will the running costs be?
Your Motability lease includes servicing and maintenance, so the only running costs will be charging.
What are the different charging options?
When you lease your first electric Motability car, you could be eligible for a free home charger if you have access to off-street parking. With a home charge point, you can power up overnight, so your car is ready to go first thing in the morning and benefit from lower electricity rates.
If you don't have access to off-street parking, don't worry. You can still get a subscription to the BP Pulse Network which gives you access to over 9,000 public charging points.

Are adaptations available for EVs?
Yes! You can still adapt your Motability electric car just as you would a petrol or diesel car. Many adaptations are available at no extra cost and our Motability specialists are on hand to help arrange this.
What are EVs like to drive?
Electric cars offer a slightly different driving experience to petrol or diesel cars. The main difference being that they offer automatic transmissions as standard. If you've never driven an automatic car before, this can be a big change. But also, a change for the better!
To get a feel for driving an electric car, be sure to book a test drive and experience what it's like firsthand.
